A few weeks ago we had a talk at the camera club about the photographer Jimmy Forsyth. He took pictures around a small area of Newcastle after the second world war recording the people and landscape as it changed. It prompted us all to think about recording our own local history for future prosperity but do we really need to? With the amount of ad-hoc photography on social websites like Facebook and Twitter there is probably enough already!
